The People Blueprint

Digital Fridgital is a digital interface concept designed to help people better organise their groceries and reduce household food waste. The screen, integrated into the front of the fridge, allows users to track ingredients, manage shopping lists, and discover recipes based on what they already have at home. By providing reminders and suggestions for using ingredients before they expire, the system encourages more mindful cooking and food management. Ultimately, the concept promotes more sustainable habits by helping users make better use of the food they buy.

Through user research and interviews with people conscious about their diet and environmental footprint, I designed a smart fridge screen that allows users to track groceries, discover recipes, manage shopping lists, and set food usage goals. A key design challenge was simplifying the logging process and ensuring recipes were versatile enough to reuse common ingredients, which led to features such as ingredient filters, saved items, and quick-access ingredient lists. The concept ultimately highlights how reducing food waste can also help users save money, creating a practical incentive for more sustainable everyday behaviour.

This was a client project referred to me by a friend, for his cousin launching her consulting business. My goal was to deliver high-quality work that supported the client and reflected positively on my friend’s recommendation. The project involved frequent revisions and ongoing communication, which made it a valuable learning experience. While the core of the site is complete, a few final tweaks remain. The project began in Figma and transitioned to Webflow—a process that felt smoother as I’ve become more confident with the platform. Overall, I’m pleased with how it’s coming together, and it continues to be an opportunity to refine my skills.
